THE
CASTLE OF FORMANOIR
The Castle of Formanoir is located on the Domain of Palteau, in the
heart of the Burgundy region, in a peaceful village called Armeau, overlooking
the Yonne Valley.
Surrounded by 80 acres of land, forests and beautiful gardens, our camp
is the perfect setting for horseback riding and medieval programs. In
the 16th Century, Formanoir belonged to the Governor of the Bastille,
and it is there in this historic and magnificent place that was kept
prisoner the famous " Iron Mask".
This is a true pony/horseback riding school (90 horses). Under the supervision of professionals, campers not only learn the skills to become good riders, but this program also teaches them through many activities what life was like in Burgundy during the medieval times...
Medieval workshops, camping, swimming, archery, volley-ball, ping-pong, arts & crafts (leather, making of paper, photography...), reading, cinema, games, treasure hunts.
